Fernand
The upshot being, that if you have personalised number plates, make sure you drive impeccably! Unless of course you have a plate such as, BIG 1, then you can drive however you damn well please and sod the little people! When they see a plate like that, they know their place! willman
Wow! That really is so, so sad! But thats your opinion - and as i said i don't care what people think about our plates, they were bought as gifts that are personal to the owners. monkey104
I'm thinking of changing my name by deed poll to my vehicle registration. It's a lot cheaper:)
andrejuan
Why would a celebration cake have a name written on it? Why would someone have cufflinks (remember them?) personalised with initials? Why would a woman make a charm bracelet personal to her alone? With cars it's sometimes to hide it's age, sometimes to add identity/ownership to an object. It may be to show the world you can afford a plate that cost a lot of money. All in all harmless personal choice and good luck to them.
Olive
Did I say I 'cared' that much?....I just don't 'get' it...Like I said...I really couldn't give a monkeys what other people do. I just can't get my head around the logic of it. Same here Pete, I can't understand it. It's got to be a means of drawing attention to yourself hasn't it? That's the bit I don't understand! The only time I saw one and thought that it made total sense was on a van belonging to the Ski Village, which was P15TE (or something similar) - the plates and the livery matched up, and really worked as an advertising gimmick. ps - this was some years ago - clearly not everything about the Ski Village was successful...... Stranza
I have one! It means absolutely stuff all to me, not my initials or name etc. It was on my first car when I bought it and I kept it. Nothing to do with ego it's nostalgia and personal choice that's all. I also have a Garfield air freshener that no longer smells nice, I had that since I started driving too. The Garfield is clearly showing off and ego though. Probably penis envy too.

willman
One of our local hairdressers has DG05 LNG - it was probably bought and not just landed on his car, and to those who know him reads as his surname. (if you read it quick and squint through one eye)

I'm not questioning your right to buy what you like... ... but the fact that you think you have bought 'exclusivity' for £299.
