PeteMorris
Isn't that the point, caring what others think? Unless you need reminding of your own name. Where's the 'like' button
Guest
But surely they only 'mean' something to 'you'? Yes, so what's the problem with that? Why do you care so much?
Fernand
You can't have expensive cars on the drive with just standard issue reg plates! What would the neighbours think?
ronthenekred
My mate from Norfolk has got Mam and Dad tattooed on the same hand. 9 letters?..now that's inbreeding.

willman
Isn't that the point, caring what others think? Unless you need reminding of your own name. Is it? Do people only buy houses and cars to see what others think?
PeteMorris
Yes, so what's the problem with that? Why do you care so much? Did I say I 'cared' that much?....I just don't 'get' it...Like I said...I really couldn't give a monkeys what other people do. I just can't get my head around the logic of it. Fernand
That you own expensive cars? Regular number plates? Try pulling a stunt like that round my yard and watch the Christmas drinks invitations dry right up!

willman
It means "I pay extra to the DVLA to have the registration I want". So, logically, those who own them should not then moan about any other driving-related official costs, such as road tax and the like. EDIT: there should be a poll, asking posters to clarify whether they own a cherished number or not, for a bit more context to the thread comments Or it may mean i paid for a "bespoke" gift for someone for a special occasion or birthday or just because i've got £500 to spend. Its no different to ladies who have to but large stone rings - it means no more than a small stone.
