Allen
Half a vote sounds interesting. Instead of a "x" in the box..they could use "/" for labour and "\" for the other lot.

*_ash_*
I spent 33 years teaching them. Some were more than mature enough to engage in political debate some less so. More or less like the rest of society. If I were to impose a numerical qualification for the vote I would prefer IQ to age. annbaker
No! Anyway most wouldn't get off their rear ends to vote to start with never mind be bothered finding out what they were voting for. Can you remember being 16? Would you have ?

blake
Half a vote sounds interesting. i couldn't give a rat's ass about 16 and 17 year olds to be honest with you, but once the principle of half a vote has been established, then it might be possible to extend it to other sections of the electorate too, like undischarged bankrupts, people who have taken joke degrees at university like tourism studies, and residents of Burngreave.
