no i dont believe in capital punishment, it obviously doesnt work, look at crime in the US

Who told you that?

First of all:

"As of July 2021, the death penalty is authorized by 27 states and the federal government – including the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. military – and prohibited in 23 states and the District of Columbia, according to the Death Penalty Information Center. But even in many of the jurisdictions that authorize the death penalty, executions are rare: 13 of these states, along with the U.S. military, haven’t carried out an execution in a decade or more. That includes three states – California, Oregon and Pennsylvania – where governors have imposed formal moratoriums on executions".  - Pew Research

Death sentences have declined drastically.

While homicides have increased drastically

"...between 2019 and 2020" :?

A damning indictment of the administration at the time. 🙄 :hihi:

Capital punishment has indeed made no difference!

This article recently appeared under the headline "Gun Violence Is Actually Worse in Red States. It's Not Even Close"...

...though I notice it has now been changed to "The Surprising Geography of Gun Violence":

Does anyone think that those who carry out these mass shootings expect to make good their escape.

They are almost invariably murder /suicide missions and the death penalty is of little moment in these cases.

Another normal Memorial day weekend in Chicago. where black lives really don't matter.

Wall Street Journal

Another Shoot-’em-Up Memorial Day Weekend in Chicago

The city’s new mayor attributes shootings to the ‘trauma’ of disinvestment.

Somebody should tell him that "disinvestment" is due to all the crime, NOT the other way round :)

Ah well!

I just don't understand why all these shootings don't get a mention on CNN news.

Quite strange.

" Trauma of disinvestment"
