Mass shootings in America

Recommended Posts

“Look, it’s really simple – mass shootings are really easy to fix, just get rid of the guns. Easy."

Really? Just get rid of all the guns in America? Terrible over-simplification of their problems. It's written into their constitution for starters. Secondly is it really 'simple' to expect every person is going to hand them in? At best, the sensible, nice people would hand them in, the criminals, hard-liners and unstable would keep them.

They have a horrible 'unsolveable' problem, I really feel sorry for them. That quote is certainly noy spot-on.

Yes, it is written into the constitution but as it was written in AFTER the constitution was written it can therefore be also written out.

You make the guns and ammunition illegal, OK that wont stop the criminals but it will in the end make it harder to get them and simpler for the police to enforce, in that if you have a gun you're breaking the law, simples

It will take time, and more importantly, someone with guts to go against the national perverts association, so yes, you are right, Im afraid that it wont happen as no one in the States has the guts to do it.

So, not an 'easy' problem to solve.

Thats the route the americans are taking, we cant fix it so why bother trying, lets just allow the citizens to wipe each other out, and do it perfectly legally :(

In fact, one wonders why they bother with making murder illegal???

Only 65% ish percent of them even want stricter gun controls. All that means is restrictions on who can by fully automatic assualt rifles etc. The rest are ok with it...... Gun control is as good as its going to get it would seem. A ban on guns or ammunition isn't even on the table.

I'm no expert at US politics, but isn't that the same constitution full of amendments?

And isn't that second amendment to bear arms based upon defending the US from European Kingdoms?

Or its own tyrannical government:

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed"

A couple of posts have been amended due to broken quote tags. It is important to use quote tags correctly to attribute the right quote to the forum user. In future, use the preview post before replying to make sure that quote are correct.
