Norseman
For years I used a Wilkinson Sword handle with Morrisons own 5pk of blades for a whopping £1.99 a pack because the same blades made by Wilkinson Sword were around £5-£6 a pack for three. Then some numpty decided to stop making them and I then had to start looking for something else and swopped to a Gillette Sensor 3, should've done the swop years ago, they're great and only around £5 for a pack of 5 and they last me far longer than the others did. It was either that or the facial fuzz:gag:
milquetoast1
Apparently when razor blades go blunt, chances are they're not really blunt but just dull from the residues of hair and skin that collect on the blades. Buy yourself a Razorpit sharpener: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Razorpit-RP-O-B-Razor-Blade-Sharpener/dp/B004W2UMDW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1411470062&sr=8-1&keywords=razor+sharpener Those lubricating strips are a marketing gimmick to make you think the blade needs to be binned. I've been using : http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005BQ7Y98/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 which is essentially the same thing and a Mach3 blade lasts me for about 3 months before I think it's ready for a new one. My wife commented on my smooth chin this morning. This made me smile because my Mach 3 blade is now on week eight, the longest I've kept one for. My blades used to last a week before I had to changed them, but since buying the razorpit I've been using them for about a month before changing. Because of this thread I decided to see how much longer I could persist, and now after eight weeks it's still going strong. The marketing strip, err I mean lubricating strip, on the top never lasts more than a few days, but even the rubber strip on bottom fell off last week and made no difference. In fact I think the shave improved when it fell off, so ignore the adverts. Whilst the razorpit does help clean the blades, I reckon a lot of its effectiveness is down to the placebo effect. It just helps provide an inertia to change when we see the lubricating strip looking shabby, a mental reality check of sorts.
Harleyman
I buy mine at the local Costco. A box of 52 costs around 17 dollars (about 12 pounds). They're Gillette. Use one for a week then toss it I used to use Mach 3 until I realized what a racket it was.
Mecky
Maybe that's why the scroats have started growing beards. In recent years prices have increased enormously on everyday items rather than prestige value goods.
GLASGOWOODS
Fusion Razors are a total rip-off. And so is printer ink.
Alcoblog
Fusion Razors are a total rip-off. And so is printer ink. I use shaving foam when I get low on printer ink ... to be honest (and I know this is a bit controversial), I find I get a better shave with it. I still swear by magenta for tooth cleaning purposes though!
Mikes10
Hi everyone, I have revived this topic because I have a passing interest in which wet shave blades people are using. My preffered blade is the Gillete Mach3 disposable (pack of 3) currently on offer at Wilko for £3.50 http://www.wilko.com/men/shaving/icat/mens-shaving The same pack sold by Morrisons at for £7.67 https://groceries.morrisons.com/webshop/category/Toiletries--Beauty-Mens-Toiletries-Razors--Blades/105651-102838-102889-102908?dnr=y Looking on the shelves of Boots gives a wide range of wet blades with an equally range of high prices, does anyone use a Power Fusion razor? I bought a load of razors from Wilkos when they were on offer about 2 years ago, and I just have 2 packs left now. I' ll try some of them in your wilko link Mike. Ps: I've just used an old tooth brush to clean the soap etc from a razor after seeing that Amazon device. 10 seconds under the bath tap going left to right along the blades - a perfect clean. Don't know if it will improve the shave though.
