Bonzo77
well I must have missed em stood in the que at the PO, go and have a cig and relax bonzo. ????? What bit can't you understand? I've mentioned this several times already, but I'll say it again in case you've missed it. A cyclist and someone who drives a Skoda Octavia pays exactly the same in road tax..... £0! Forgive me for sounding blunt but, are you being deliberately obtuse?

Your missing my point as usual, I'm saying they should pay more than £0 if there are riding on the same roads as others who are paying VED. ---------- Post added 04-10-2014 at 09:55 ---------- You can't even get the Professor bit right, I am retired it should be Emeritus. in your case emeroid. Bonzo77
Your missing my point as usual, I'm saying they should pay more than £0 if there are riding on the same roads as others who are paying VED. So, what you're saying is that everyone should pay a flat rate road tax, including all the car drivers that don't pay a penny too?
Blackbeard
Where have we heard all this before? UKIP! "10.6 UKIP would consult on the desirability of minimum third party liability insurance cover for cyclists - a simple annual flat rate registration ‘Cycledisc’, stuck to the bicycle frame, to cover damage to cars and others, which are currently unprotected. The Cycledisc should also carry clear identification details, which will help counter bicycle theft, and deter dangerous cyclist behaviour. We support provision of cycle parking at reasonable charges." http://road.cc/content/forum/77338-ukip-policies-bikes You read it here last. RootsBooster
Should cyclist pay like motorist, what part of that dont you understand. What do you mean "like any other road user"? You do realise, of course, that there is no such thing as road tax. There is a vehicle excise duty (or vehicle tax), which is based upon the vehicle's emissions. There are plenty of petrol and diesel cars you can drive out of the showroom today which are exempt from this tax, they don't need any at all, because of their low emissions. Please nod twice if you understand so far. Okay, so having read that, what reason would (zero emission) bikes have to pay this tax? Which part don't YOU understand? Penistone999
Why do you need two vehicles? One is more than enough. Because i can afford two vehicles. I use one for travelling for my business dealings ( my Range Rover) ,and the other ( Landrover Discovery) i use for taking the dogs out, running about locally up here as its very rural .
