taxman
The NSPCC have evidence that people who are cruel to animals have a pre-disposition to be cruel to children. So why do people who can do things like this get away with a community order and a fine instead of being banged up for a serious time and removed from decent society? A community service order will not change a person who can be this evil, a prison sentence might not either, but at least a prison sentence keeps them off the street and sends a message that animal cruelty is treated seriously. It isn't at the moment despite the evidence that animal cruelty is as indication of sociopathy and an indication of further criminal intent. ANGELFIRE1
I would like to do to the animal abusers the same as they did to the animal. Angel1.

I think the sentencing boils down to the fact the law sees animals as property rather than living thing that someone loves and cares for. This is why you see someone getting the same sort of sentence for setting fire to gate as you would someone setting fire to a dog.
Godzilla
Children witnessing cruelty to animals amounts to child abuse. It brutalises children.
Hawa
We definitely need stricter animal cruelty laws in this country. It could be worse though, look at Denmark.
