caz7
Hi, My daughter is getting married next August, she has her dress which is ivory. I managed to get a beautiful veil from a charity shop but when we put it with the dress we realised the veil is white. I was told you can dye a veil with tea and just wondered if anyone has successfully done this and how? Thanks
ecky11
Not sure about tea dyeing but I know that you can buy fabric dyes for a reasonable price from hobbycraft, these may be of use to you.
medusa
I'd go with a fabric dye too, if you can find a suitable one. Tea dyeing is great if it takes evenly all over and if the fabric makeup is of a sort that takes up the colourant in the first place, but there's a possibility that the thread sewing the veil will take up the tea far more (or less) than the fabric of the veil, leading it to look rather mucky. A more even ivory, beige or gold would be far more appropriate and run less risk of causing the veil to be useless afterwards.
