That may be the case, but how many jobs are a "worthwhile career". Working on a supermarket checkout and driving a train involves very few skills taught in school, is the need for 5 good GCSEs being over played?

 

To be honest I don't know what half the jobs are these days. The job titles mean nothing to me, and a lot have undergone 'agrandisement.'

 

Maybe kids are similarly confused but don't like to say. If careers advice is still as crap as it was in my day the poor little blighters won't have a clue what they're applying for...
