Shefflich
Now this really is a long shot because the shop in question probably went out of business before or shortly after WWII. It was owned and run by my Grandparents and was on the left hand side of Chapel Walk approaching from Fargate. It was either next to, or next but one to, the Geisha Cafe, also long gone. I would love to know if anyone has any memories of it and also over what period of time it was trading. I no longer live in Sheffield so am unable to consult the trade directories held by the Library. When I first moved to Sheffield back in 1966 someone on finding out my name said, 'Let Beecher collar you', which apparently was an advert my Grandfather regularly used in 'The Star'. I don't hold out much hope on this but would be delighted if anyone can help. Thanks in anticipation!!
