Guest sibon
No he said that there is a group of disabled people who can't get a job cause no one will employ them because the are not worth anything (in monetary terms) to an employer and that there must be a way of giving them something they could do . He was asking for ideas. No company would pay them NMW so how can we give them something to do? It wasn't nasty. I accept it was quite a blunt and financial way of expressing it. But if you deliberately misunderstand what he was saying (or if you are really really thick. And I mean bovinely stupid) than yes you can make out he was being nasty for no reason. Just to be nasty. Jeez Are you suggesting that 6 pounds 50 per hour is more than the worth of a human being? I know exactly where the bovine stupidity is. It lies with whoever let Freud out in public. And those who defend his weasel words.

Do you employ a severely disabled person of the kind he was talking?
*_ash_*
There was interesting piece on QT this week. Starts at 47ms in. Angela Eagle tried to argue the point of many posters in here, and rightly got shot to pieces.

RonJeremy
Yes. Do you understand the word "minimum"? Of course. Stop trying to make political capital out of someone trying to help. You're as bad as Milliwhassisname. Night
Mr Bloom
You're just following millipede and making something out of what a decent person was trying to do by helping disabled people. It's pathetic. I don't follow anyone. And if you think Lord Freud's words are the words of a decent person, then I think you need to return your moral compass for a full refund. ---------- Post added 20-10-2014 at 01:29 ---------- Millipede, Moribund, Miliband don't care what I call him. He was an opportunist pouncing on a nonstory hoping to make political capital from someone who was trying to come up with a solution to the nearly unemployable unable to find work. He was trying to help. He's years too late - the house of lords was established years ago.

Tommo68
Equal pay for doing the same job regardless of age, ability, competence, gender etc Sounds good if they are in fact all providing the same results. That however is not the issue raised by the OP. Is it ok to pay anyone less than minimum wage? ...Duh! Its the MINIMUM wage. cameron himself has said that minimum wage is set too low when he said he intends to scrap income tax on it. If you are not earning enough in a full-time job to warrant paying income tax then something is wrong. .
