Guest sibon
Hardly the most important thread ever, but I'm curious. I only ever open mine from the stick end. I know that some people start at the other end, but surely that is just plain wrong. Isn't it? I won't even consider eating one unless the skin is yellow with brown spots on it. I'm not a fan of those yellow/green under-ripe fruits. For me, the more nail-varnishy the taste the better. How about you?

poppet2
If you buy them from the supermarket, you've got to wait at least a couple of days before you can eat them. I like them for breakfast in a fresh roll or as a desert with plain yogurt and honey. Edited October 19, 2014 by poppet2

John Dory
I've got my children hooked on banana smoothies. A couple of bananas, honey, yogurt and some grated nutmeg, delicious.
margarete
I open them this way and it is very easy: http://lifehacker.com/5311002/open-a-banana-like-a-monkey
Jillybabes
The older the better, don't like just ripe, but not too brown or black either, always have one cut up on my cereal in a morning
Guest sibon
Disappointing lack of use of the smiley so far. Allow me
LeMaquis
I prefer the flavour of bananas in other foods to bananas. A banana-flavoured yoghurt, ice cream or milkshake is irresistible and sod the calories.
