Stan Tamudo
Eh? I think he'd make a good Spitting Image caricature. I don't think I'd like to see him do well at the next election though. I wouldn't hold his education against him though. I tend not to, I take people at face value and use neither snobbery nor inverted. In fact I find it quite offensive that you do discriminate against people because of their social class, education or background. Always had you down as a closet Socialist Ron! Obelix
I notice we never level that comment at the volunteers working for charities or fundraising for charities(including unemployed). Those people are happy to work for free, so why not volunteer to pick weeds or mend fences. The obvious reason being that I get "paid" in many ways as a Scout Leader that I don't get paid as when I pull weeds... ---------- Post added 23-10-2014 at 23:18 ---------- Those three would be great. Cameron and Nick are bit bland - not much to go at, but Red Ed as Grommit would be a goody Never stopped them having fun with bland Major and his pea fetish did it :-)

Mate, you bang on about immigrants like they're something off the sole of your shoe! How can you say you hate people that discrimimate?! I'm sure you have a good heart, deep down Ron. One day you'll realise that we are all human beings and all share the same long term goals and ideologies. I think you just need a hug...or a slap?! I'm not, but people like him always get their comeuppance and he'll realise he has to change his ways. Whether or not he does is a different matter
Alan Ladd
"pride, a sense of achievement, a culture of punctuality, courtesy, improved social skills."?? Picking litter and weeds with criminals?? I think it would do the opposite! Plus, people can still go on holiday if they're looking for work. Say someone gets laid off, they are entitled to go on JSA, they have a holiday booked which they can afford because they still have a few thousand in savings. Nothing wrong with that. If people are of independent means as someone would be with savings of course they should go on holiday. This is not the debate, Tebbitt has made this statement aimed largely at young people who are out of work and people whose work ethic needs changing. No they should not work with criminals, they should be encouraged to see that this work is important, as it is, litter is both unsightly and a health hazard, the removal of weeds and renovation of public green areas would benefit us all. ---------- Post added 24-10-2014 at 11:54 ---------- Always had you down as a closet Socialist Ron! Cyclone
So aimed at a very small minority of long term claimants. What a waste of time, it's such a small problem, we have much larger fish to fry.
