I have just noticed your postcode - that area used to be the district of Wortley the records of which may not be stored in Sheffield but in the Wakefield archive.

Most of the HighGreen, Burncross area used to be "fields" in the early 1900's as they were postcoded then as S30 and addressed to be "near Sheffield" My grand parents lived in highgreen before the roads were tarmacked !

 

Try old-maps.co.uk you can look but you're not allowed to republish or sell on maps.

all records of Sheffield and the west riding which all south Yorkshire belonged to all records from local towns parishes birth death and marriages are now store at sheffield archives on ledmill road next to radio Sheffield and red tape studio the staff there are very helpful and will guide you round the system I have used it many times to find my family tree give them a go ring them first a think its a quid to join well woth it good luck
