Violence at Million Mask March in London.

At least five people have been arrested after protests in central London broke into scuffles.

Protesters have been gathering in cities around the world under the banner of the Million Mask March, promoted by the loosely organised internet activist group Anonymous but attracting a range of participants including supporters of anti-capitalist, anti-war and pro-Palestine movements.

London was the scene of one of the largest as thousands, many wearing the Guy Fawkes masks which have become a symbol of Anonymous, gathered in Parliament Square on Wednesday night and later made their way in groups towards other locations including Buckingham Palace and the BBC’s central London studios.

I'm waiting for the usual suspects to come along exaggerating the numbers and complaining it wasn't reported in the mainstream media - after they've waited a few days for the story to drop off the media websites front pages.

Oooh look, the BBC is reporting it too!

Oh yeah, the police are to blame for everything, NOT!

Three people were held on suspicion of assaulting police officers.

How much have these "protesters" cost the tax payer?

"Police officers this evening worked under challenging conditions. Despite numerous attempts, the organisers refused to engage with us ahead of the evening's events.

It wasn't reported in the mainstream media, and there were thousands there.

I quite like this movement, it is good that the young people are using their voice, it is their future that is being messed up and this lot have grown up smart enough to know when the wool is being pulled over their eyes. Hyper-connected, able to process far more information per hour than older folks as a matter of habit and utterly fed-up.

Of course, as soon as they are old enough to be in power that will all have changed.
