Anonymous activists at it again! violent protest!

Another repost. Sorry

They said they were protesting / rioting over some new austerity measures there.

November 5th isn't in my diary as the national day of protest, rather Bonfire Night and in another Guy Fawkes Night. Also protests need to be organised in-conjunction with the police to help integrate it into others lives, not on this adhoc basis.

I wasn't aware Anonymous was an offical group, rather a collective (originally hackers, but hijacked by many others now).

It was definately part of the Occupy group. Occupy are protesting about austerity. It says austerity is only necessary because the big corporations don't pay their tax, and wants to know why no banks / bankers have been convicted for causing the biggest financial crash in history.

I should have said it was Occupy's protest day, around the world.

Annonymous is not an 'official' group. They are more of a collective and tend to be more for 'direct action.' I must admit I tend to think of them more as a bunch of Wolfie Smiths, and the Guy Fawkes masks do them no favours in being taken seriously, it's a gift to those who wish to discredit protesters, though I can see why they would want to conceal their identity. They can do a lot of damage and I think discredit Occupy.

It is however a fact that it is only when serious violence breaks out that it seems to generate any real TV coverage, and then the coverage is all negative and the message is (deliberately) lost.

You obviously have nothing useful to contribute, simply brainless insults, so you might as well go to bed now.

Nooooooooooo, we always see the big peaceful protests. The journo's even get amongst them and interview them.

I've just done Finds in 5 articles and none mentioned "occupy"....

What is your source (an actual link please!)

I quite like this movement, it is good that the young people are using their voice, it is their future that is being messed up and this lot have grown up smart enough to know when the wool is being pulled over their eyes. Hyper-connected, able to process far more information per hour than older folks as a matter of habit and utterly fed-up.

Of course, as soon as they are old enough to be in power that will all have changed.

I totally agree with you. These events are the only way to get the message across.

Wasn't it the same leftie loons that will attend any public gathering to push their poorly thought through, moronic agenda??

Yes it was full of other groups, including Free Palistine and many unknowns, including a granny too!

I wish the corrupt Saxe Coburg clan had all been roasted in Buckingham Palace. That would have saved us tax payers a few quid.

Do you think some other family or political party wouldn't have oozed up through the cracks to take their place (and money and influence?).

Look at the House of Commons. How many out of the 650 from both sides of the house give a tuppenny toss about their constituents? Half? Less than that if it's a safe seat and there's no election in the offing.

But have a revolution. Have a violent one. Other countries have them and before long after the bodies have been buried the same sort of self serving, power hungry type of narcissist will be in charge. You think that brand wouldn't take the job after Cameron, clegg and milliband have been put up against a wall? I bet he would.

That's what I tell my socialist friends.

Context my arse! I can't think of anything more Neanderthal than enjoying watching a pack of animals ripping another animal to pieces.

Tally Ho ;)
