Bolivia, the fastest growing economy in the Americas

Recommended Posts

For you, better off in a budding socialist paradise than living in a corrupt capitalist state.

Don't worry about learning the lingo. After you've had to live among the Bolivians for a year you'll be surprised how fast you've picked up a lot of it

Ahh......sarcasm. Proof that you're not American!

I wouldn't want to live in a socialist society. I've never said that on any thread. Same goes for this one. I just said that there's some lessons to be learned.

I was serious. You are a very unhappy person it appears. It must be hard waking up in the mornings and knowing that all around you is filthy capitalism and corruption. You've already said as much in so many posts. But you can do nowt to change it except instead air your frustrations through the media of a keyboard.

Be of good cheer though because you are not completely alone. Anna B is endeavoring to start a grass roots movement via the SF but unfortunately she seemed to have had some idea that she could get free publicity to spread the message on TV :D

Far from it mate, I wake up every morning excited. I wake up and think of ways that I can get involved and communicate with people. I've started attending local council meetings on a regular basis and donating some of my money to causes that I feel are worthy.

I don't think capitalism is filthy. I think it's competitive and rewarding if it's not abused and we don't let it consume it's self, which it will if we let it run it's natural cause. It's happened before and it will happen again if balance isn't brought about.

This is an exciting time for politics.

I agree with those sentiments but I'm not sure how you'd arrive at that. Whilst the 3 main parties are all about equality, they seem to do by taking money out of the squeezed middle.

Corporation tax laws needs massively simplifying, and loopholes closed. Most big companies will pay it if they have to - the uk market is too big to throw away. The financial sector is another story.

Wow, and I agree with you. I might print this page and frame it!

Really? Not even after the evil republicans bought control of the senate?

True, but there were lots of little state referendums on the ballot papers too, like keep abortion legal (that won) raise minimum wage (that won in most places too and even legalising canabis in some places (which also did well) - so whilst republicans are winning seats, voters are still voting for some left wing, hippy issues.

It seems as though left and right politics are both heading down the middle to win votes these days.

They got control because the Democrats and Obama didn't in the eyes of the middle class live up to the promises made to them in the last election.

It wasn't about the poor or the rich. Neither contribute much to the economic well being of any state. It's the back bone of society... the good old middle class taxpayers
