spilldig
We will shortly be disposing of a faulty twin tub washing machine, and rather than pay the council to take it I was wondering if it is worth putting out for scrap? Now something like that would probably go in about one day,but this one has a plastic body. Still a lot of metal in though including copper in the motors, so opinion please, would it go? El Cid
I have started collecting scrap, as I live close to a weigh in scrap metal yard, I got £9 for an old oven, bits of scrap and some alu drinks cans. Just a few things in the back of the car, not sure why more people dont do it.

Yes, it would go. The metal would be ripped out of it and the remaining plastic shell dumped by the roadside. jb
geared
or occasionally the plastic shell is dumped on the owners driveway. Either way you're responsible for the mess they leave behind.

neeeeeeeeeek
I put a washer out on Burngreave road the other day. Popped back into the house, collected a few things, got my car keys, coat, dithered for about five minutes... Went back outside and a scrap man was all over it, dragging it into his van! HOW DO THEY KNOW???

Isabelle
I got a faulty washing machine off someone on here for free, on the off chance it was an easy fix. It wasn't, but got a fiver for it in scrap and also used it for parts
