I understand what you saying, but they are "my club in my eyes" and yes it no doubt sounds stupid to think of them as some sort of family member. But they have always been in my life,my dads and grandads life.Birthday presents,X.mas presents as kids always had a wednesday connection. So if you had asked me the paedophile question [which i think was out ouf order TBH] then of course you would be disgusted/ashamed etc at the person involved but you wouldnt just wipe away all your memories/feelings of the football club.

Why was the question out of order? It was genuine and not meant to offend. I just want to know how deep the support goes. Thats all. I have no ulterior motive.

Thanks for the explanation. No it dosent sound daft or stupid, your support for you club i mean. We just werent a big footballing family and i suppose i cant quite understand why someone would be.

But hes talking for himself, not for the rest of the 100.000 Owls and Blades fans. What makes you think hes talking for everyone?

Its easy, it's what drives us, I have been a fan for a relatively short time, and what Gazza says is true, the match day experience, the shirts, the gifts, flying halfway across.the world to watch 90mins of football, I guess if your not into football you'll never understand the passion.

You do make it sound a good experience. Dont get me wrong i loved it back in the day but just didnt carry on with it. Having said that, your description of the match day makes me want to give it another go. I think ill give that one some thought. If i did go to a match i think id want to go to both, Blades and owls. As i said previously as a lad i was an Owl but over the years Sheffield has become more important to me than just one side of it.

Thank you for taking the time to explain. Its appreciated. :)

I suppose i identify with both sides of he city. I have always lived on the red side but my family were Owls. My mates were blades but i often went to the reserve matches as a lad (never told my folks tho) I went to Owls games with my dad, met the players and even socialised with a few. When we played eachother at Wembly i was cheering the Owls but i did feel for the Blades in a way that got me a punch in the head from my bro. These days i think i feel more for the city as a whole than any one section of it so nail my colours to the Sheffield mast rather than nail my colours to a particular footballing mast.
