biotechpete
You maybe able to find a friendly mechanic to go look at it to recover it. Other than that I would think it will be a case of calling a tow truck which can lift it up.
barleycorn
Does the handbrake not have a manual override? jb Edited November 19, 2014 by barleycorn
El Cid
I bought my car without test on ebay, it only cost £30 for a tow truck, it was around 4 miles.
TimmyR
I find this bizarre, all these modern gadgets, auto handbrakes auto windscreen wipers etc. They fail and you're stuck. One reason to keep buying the older cars. At least you can fix them yourself.
poppet2
Do you know anyone else with breakdown cover as if they come with you most people are covered, regardless of any vehicle they are in which breaks down. Other than that, buy the cheapest breakdown cover by phone or online tonight and after 24 hours you can use them for the annual fee of £39.00. If you call them out within 24 hours, they will charge you £150.00. Edited November 18, 2014 by poppet2
geared
Most auto-handbrakes usually have a manual over-ride. Quite a few garages will be able to recover cars one way or another as well, so ring round and see what they say.

I was in a similar situation when mine broke down stuck in gear.
