Chez2
A pot belly woodburner, there is plenty of free wood for collection You need planning permission (or some sort of permission/approval) to install these. You might well find it puts up the insurance premium too.
AnthonyTapp
Have you thought about under floor heating ,with the size of room wont be cheap to install but best way to keep look of a room without having to have radiators
Waldo
I disagree unless you are heating a tiny box room and never opening and closing the door . My living room is approx thirty two foot long and sixteen foot wide. The walls are insulated and we have new doubled glazed windows. We have several candles and smaller tea lights just because we like the soft light and the look of them. It makes no difference to the overall heat in the room. No problem. I think the idea is to cover them with 2 plant pots in order for it to work.
Chez2
No problem. I think the idea is to cover them with 2 plant pots in order for it to work. The plant pots will just act as a heat sink, a bit like a storge heater. Its basic physics, work it out. Look at the power/energy from a candle and that required to heat a room (of a specific size). I know people that use traditional light bulbs in clay pots for chick rearing, I have used a dull emitter. My dull emitters were much more powerful that a candle but do nothing to heat a room. A dull emitter is like a light bulb in a ceramic shell so similar to a candle in a clay pot.
