rarmxbd
My son (aged 9) would like to join a running club. Does anybody know of any in the area of S6 please? I've seen about 15 kids and 3 adults running down Walkley lane (bottom end) today about 5pm I think they come from sacred heart school
MrsMozzy
Would a running club advise on the frequency/lengths of runs for a nine year old? (I was always told that too much running too young can cause problems but I don't know how true it is).
slou
Thank you for your suggestions. There seems very little information available online. I would hope so MrsMozzy.

jemson
Sheff AC is probably the best bet. Hallamshire Harriers do juniors too. The main thing with young children in to let them enjoy it. It`s terrible when you see kids dragged around a parkrun. Vary the surface they run on; don`t stick to grass. Vary the pace, play with speed. Let them have a rest when needed. Set fun challenges and play racing games. My two are 3 and 5 and they both did a run with me last night. Not far and then I went off and did my own thing after.
