Youths outside The Rude Shipyard on Abbeydale Road, anyone had trouble

Recommended Posts

The Council's solution is to employ two Activity Sheffield coaches at Broadfield Park two evenings a week to provide positive activities for these youths.

Last time I drove past the two coaches were stoic by themselves with no one attending the session. Probably because they are throwing stones at passing traffic.

Easy gig that for someone - get paid to run a session nobody attends.

Are you having a laugh? The council paid for coaches? For kids running riot? Am i missing something here what makes these kids so special?

SCC are the biggest joke of a council in the Western World.

I've told you seventy three thousand and five hundred and fifty four times, stop exaggerating.

Where do you get this drivel from? The toilet walls in your working men's club?

Typically Activity Sheffield apply for funding from a safer neighbourhood or community pot.

They say they need activities to provide positive opportunities for the youths.

They receive money, pay staff an hourly wage and pocket the rest.

Goes on all over Sheffield.

For maybe the 2 kids test take part they get them to fill out a questionnaire or draw a picture stating the life changing experience they gave had, and then the Council get the money again.

If you genuinely have evidence of fraud or misconduct, you will of course have reported it to the appropriate authorities. If on the other hand, you're spouting guff, at least have the decency to let people know on what grounds you're making this claim.

Are you a council employee? An employee of Activity Sheffield? Or just a cynic with no idea?

Did I say it was fraud or misconduct?

All done above board. If a coach is £12 per hour you claim for £20. Each activity will run a surplus as they cannot be expected to spend their own money to run it.

Don't work for them but know them well. Speak to any non council organisation in Sheffield and they will have a few stories for you.

Instead of trying to be like Roger Cook acknowledge there is a problem on Abbeydale Road. The council know about it, Nikki Bond knows about it, the kids' school knows about it. But all interventions are failing.

SIV would often do it with disabled swimming.

They advertise a 1:1 swimming lesson for £12 for 30 mins.

But they have already received £12 in funding before the session starts, as they have stated to the funders that 30 mins costs £24. The public are told the session is part funded, and they believe that the session should be the higher price.

Swimming instructors paid an hourly rate, around £15 per hour. There is a surplus which covers admin, training etc.

Things like this happen all over the city but mainly in disadvantaged areas as funding is easier to obtain.

Do something useful with your life will you. Instead of continually trying to put people down on this site, why don't you get up from behind your computer, where you must spend most of your life judging by the amount of posts you have made, and go down to that corner and try and talk some sense in to the kids throwing things at people before someone gets hurt. Or is that something you have no objections to as I don't see any negative comments from you in this thread regards what they are doing and that is what the thread is about?

funnily enough all the victims were white, funny that!

Blatantly racist attacks are what happen round there by Asian youth on White people.

You have to wonder if this is/was tolerated by the police/council for political purposes, like the sexual exploitation of young White girls by mainly Pakistani men.

In the past few years, the police seem to have acknowledged the problem and have sent police to the area.

but the racist criminal gangs have the audacity to attack the police and have successfully forced the police off of the estate a few times now allowing themselves to run rampage. Last year around bonfire night springs to mind.
