n_creative
Hi, The Norton College building is due to be knocked down next year and I am working with the College to find old pictures of the building, staff, students etc. These will be included as part of a celebration of the building and all the people it has educated/helped over the many many years it's been there. I am looking for any photos of the building, staff, students since it was first put up. I know it has been many schools, colleges etc over the years but any of these would be a great help. Basically the older the better! They can be digital or physical (We can scan them and return originals). Any help would be appreciated. Walkley0 Mum
Have you checked The Star and picturesheffield? There was an exhibition of sorts a few years ago in the 90's at Norton College and they had some pictures of past events and I can remember pictures of the then Prime Minister (Harold Wilson?) opening Rowlinson's new 6th form in the early 70's and pictures of other famous people (sports personalities mainly) who'd been visiting for various events. n_creative
Thanks for the suggestions. Picture Sheffield has a couple of gems on there. I've asked around Norton and I think the people who had a lot of the old photos have all retired or moved on. I just hope they are Sheffield Forum users and will read this. vitas
Have a look at the two Rowlinson sites. One is Old Rowlies (Rowlinson School) and the other on friends reunited.
AidanLunn
I didn't know it was being knocked down! Went there between 2006-09.
