Oh Carol
Well Aston Martin you would back him up you are/were a copper, now tell us what decade you enforced the law.I read Beanys book when it was first published and yes tough measures were needed then as indeed now but tough and bent are two different things,Booper was a criminal which ever way you look at it.There are good cops and bad cops, honest hardworking cops and downright lazy cops I know some of each but not by having my collar felt.I would never subscribe to this book when there are much better ones with good content.Perhaps I should write a book on my 50 years in the motor trade a might make some dosh.Whats that old saying, set a thief to catch a thief. Please do write your book Bullerboy!..........There are people in the motor trade could make the police force look like amateurs in the bent stakes as many of us have experienced. But as you say there are good ones and bad ones and it sounds like the former reflects your good self..........I have known plenty of both. Naming names is dangerous for anyone to be involved in as Booper obviously knows.Even a war criminal in many peoples eyes Tony Blair never stood trial. The Bankers who brought this country to it's knees recently, never stood trial. So Booper taking names out of the hat of people involved in the Police force who he accused in his book of getting promotion through Masonic connections and publicly naming them would have got him nowhere except................... All large organizations are very adept at covering the truth sometimes!
yorky15
In that context the police force of old must have been riddled with villains proporting to be police officers. I know that a few slip through the net in any occupation but when a person enters into the Police service they are sworn in, to confirm with the Office of a Constable, which comes with the following value's: Personal accountability and responsibility for the protection of life and property. The prevention and detection of crime. The maintenance of law and order and the detection and prosecution of offenders. If any fail in the above by any distraction, bribe, self benefactor. They are then acting against the law.

Alan Ladd
I have lived under a number of Police administrations in the far east, Europe north Africa and the USA. In this country you have the most honest Police in the world. You should be thankful and stop carping. I have not seen a single mention of the poor cop beaten to death in Liverpool last week. One day you will get the Police you deserve.

And then the Brazilian lad shot on the underground while just on his way to work . And last but not least the miners with broken sculls arrested for defending their basic right to withdraw their labour and fight for their communities ,communities destroyed forever by the have it alls backed up by the police. You mean the drunk whose liver was so abused it was double sized, who despite being warned numerous times refused to do as asked, was pushed and was so incapable he got injured and died. The miners "the shock troops of anarchic socialism" whose leaders refused them the right to vote, who tried to intimidate those miners trying to use their right to work. Those "communities" you speak of where men were sent to work in inhuman conditions to produce a product that no one wanted. Tha Brazilian? Ill grant you that one, but remember the context, one day you may be asked to make a quick life or death decision, I hope you make the right one. ---------- Post added 24-12-2014 at 15:45 ---------- We do have the police we deserve and its not looking good with the further cuts to puplic services.
