So the other 65% were men eh!.

By the way the miners and other trade unionists that where charged and taken to court for riot were found not guilty.

I wonder what verdict the will come to [if we ever have one] on the Police brutality at Orgreave and countless other gatherings where working men and women have exercised their basic right to withdraw THEIR labour.

I think I already know the answer:rolleyes:

You think you now the answer, actually you live in the most liberal democracy on earth, no where else would you get such ludicrous judicial decisions as were passed down re Orgreave, eve Michael Mansfield found them " at the extremes of plausibility".

Where else would you get yet another Hillsborough enquiry, Operation Yew tree and the like. Would you like to cite a few further examples of "Police brutality against other gatherings where men and women have exercised their rights to withdraw their Labour"? Would you at the same time care to list the numerous times were socialist activists have attempted to intimidate other workers, deny them the right to vote?

Remember in days of the which we speak more trade unionists voted for Thatcher than they did any Labour leader.

Quite Frankly dear I can't be bothered but without doing the usual trick of going to Google[ as prevails on these threads ]I can think of many instances through out British history, The land reforms,[Who stole the Common from the Goose] The Welsh miners who where threatened that they would have the troops turned on them by good old Winston Churchill ,

In Sheffield we had the Norfolk Street riots due to workers being intimidated by the factory owners.

I could go on but I know I would be wasting my time so I hope you have a good new Year , Many will not.

By the way the trade union leaders that were interviewed on the radio this morning stated that their phones were tapped and that if they arranged to meet some one in secret [a single phone call] then invariably the police would turn up.

Strange that int it!

I should hope that the security services did tap their phones, they were revolutionary communists whose stated purpose was to bring down the government by non democratic means. They criticized Walenska in Poland, obtained money from Libya and Russia and had links with terrorist organizations.

Anyone read Graham storrs new book about his time spent in prison? For those who have not heard of him he was a corrupt Sheffield police officer who was sentenced to 5 years in prison some years ago.

I have just read it and found that it repeats a good few of the stats from the first book Boopers tale.

Apart from that it was an easy read , interesting and enjoyable .

The part to do with the Hillsbro disaster I found to be very interesting and on reflection agree with entirely .
