RootsBooster
The 'community' perpetuates the religion and culture. How can they not be responsible for the sort of people it produces? If a claim is made, such as the one roosterboost made, the question isn't "how is it not?", the question is "how is it so?". Your claim that the community perpetuates the religion and culture, with the religion and culture having some part to play in the events, is not only the logical fallacy of false cause but also a precursor to the slippery slope Could you explain clearly how the communities are to blame? (as explained above, simply saying that the community perpetuates the religion and culture doesn't cut it, as while some of the cultures and religions may have some influence, they aren't to blame). The former soldier in question is an unfortunate mix of nature and nurture combining to produce a messed up, and potentially dangerous individual, and prison is the best place for him. However, let's be gratefully that British culture does not habitually create such monsters. Oh yeah, I forgot that we don't have any serious or violent crime organisations of our own. RootsBooster
Its a good thing too as it balances out the thousands of grooming incidents, the failed terrorist plots, the murder of Lee Rigby, the forced marriages and the genital mutilation carried out by one of our minority communities. It just goes to show that there is a criminal amongst the remaining 95% of people in the UK. This evens everything out - that pesky brit making a nail bomb and being far right we knew it all along Or "...a haul of imitation firearms..." as the BBC put it, whereas it looked awfully like a kids cowboy pistol and a cheapo air pistol to me. Gotta make the bad man look badda... If a thread about a potential terrorist act concerning an ethnic minority is started, neither the left, right or centre try to defend, play down or rationalise the terrorist's actions. Why, then, are the comments above made on this thread? Is it because lefty Mel started the thread? Would the same comments have been made if someone like Bruce shark or bowie1867 had started the thread?

Tick Tock
But do you think he should be locked up or not? Of course he should be locked up ,he's a nutter ,but its all relative isn't it ,there seems to be a hell of a lot more nutters following the teachings of Muhammed just ask 97% of the population of Pakistan who are "moderate" Muslims, better still explain the word "moderate" to them because I think somebody forgot to. But why, on a thread about this nailbomber, are so many people trying to derail the thread by comparing him to other terrorists? As though having more terrorists of a different background makes this guy not so bad.
