Well done for speaking out. You have done a very brave, humane, worthwhile thing in bringing to the attention of others the plight of the mentally ill in this country.

 

Police custody should be reserved for criminals. This is our nation's disgrace.

Another six counties have capacity for one young person, and a vast area of Lincolnshire has no provision except in Scunthorpe, near the northern border, where there is capacity for two.

Imagine, 16 year old, having to be in a police custody with the usual weekend 'clientele' around you, when you're in a most fragile and vulnerable state. It doesn't bear thinking about at that age. It's official, criminals have more rights and dignity than the mentally ill in this country.
