Sue Porter
Hi - Myself & a group of friends are visiting Sheffield in July & would like to try Clay pigeon Shooting or Archery as a group activity. Is there anywhere in the area that do such activities? Thanks
micksheff
Could anyone tell me of any Archery clubs in or around Sheffield, I heard Rother Valley was setting up a field, does anyone know of it? Cheers Mick
Moon Maiden
I don't know of any specifically - but you could try asking re-enactment groups. They most likely have a cross over. Moon Maiden

Cheers Mick If in doubt, you could always try Sherwood Forrest.

Lostrider
Try this link for just about every club, organisation in and around Sheffield. http://dis.shef.ac.uk/help_yourself/ You should find at least Abbeydale Archers & there is my old club at Dronfiled, if they are still going. I think there is another at Tinsley and Brecks in Rotheham. Check the site for details.
cosywolf
If you have your own bow and just want to get in some practice once a month, two of us practice archery while the rest of my re-enactment group fight. We meet in the Tree Nursery at Norfolk Heritage Park - plenty of room, and no chance of hitting someone by accident (although if you can prove enough skill, the others will sometimes let you shoot at them:D ) No proper target, but plenty of random bits and pieces to use to sharpen your skill. Plus the two added bonuses of laughing at oddballs dressed in kit (quietly - they do have weapons, after all), and a trip down the pub afterwards.
