woodmally
So yet another tube strike this time because a tube driver failed a breath test. Is this union still in the 60s. Its unacceptable that someone should have alcohol in their system and take on passengers. Why are they thinking this is ok and striking to protect the worker? tzijlstra
It is unions like this that destroy the good work the majority of unions do. I am not a fan of unions but the majority of my dislike is due to incidents like this.

They work with managers rather than against them. And they do fight for their workers in a constructive way. Whereas with RMT and Unite it seems their first option is to strike and over anything. Obelix
Wasn't this about a tube driver who was found to be drinking on duty and failed a breath test? Not surprised that the strike was poorly supported - Tube drivers are not that militant about safety breaches.
geared
The Union claims thats a lie, but then they probably would. If the guy turned up to work drunk then there's no two ways about it, he's gone. That pilot that was arrested the other day for being over the limit has been to court IIRC. alchresearch
Yes, I don't remember any airline pilots union action with this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cornwall-29822750

taxman
Maybe their Union aren't such a bunch of Socialist weasels?? What's Socialist about flouting health and safety regulations and potentially putting members of the public at risk? Sounds more of a right wing, libertarian viewpoint.
