Jeffrey Shaw
So, back to my original question. How can someone be alive twice? A: Defining person as body+soul, 'someone' (= person) cannot. But the soul can return, as part of another person. So this "reincarnation" is therefore not a person returning. (Note: 'incarnation' derives from 'in carnem' = 'in flesh', i.e. same soul, different body)

Woooo doesn't really cut it.
Jeffrey Shaw
I don't think that's quite a factual answer I quite like that word 'think' in your post! Clearly, no-one can testify personally to undergoing the experience.
RootsBooster
I quite like that word 'think' in your post! Clearly, no-one can testify personally to undergoing the experience. So what reason would anyone have for believing in it in the first place? Also, if they have been reincarnated, why would they, clearly, not be able to testify to it?
Jeffrey Shaw
You ask for a 'reason'. That's simply a synonym, here, for 'evidence'. So you've a circular logic.

Another one trying to redefine words to suit their argument? The word 'reason' is not at all synonymous with the word 'evidence', and is most certainly not circular logic, shame on you for trying to pull a Smiffy! I suggest you investigate further (dictionary)
Jeffrey Shaw
You still seek a 'reason'? So what sort of 'reason' would suffice? [A: None, it seems, at least for you].
milquetoast1
I'm always amused by the claims made by people that they can talk to dead people. If I was dead and could talk to one of these people I would tell them what it's actually like being dead, if there's a god or a hell, something interesting, not that I like the colour of Uncle John's car or Joey the dead cat is doing fine.
