What a nonsense comment. The Taliban were created by America and Pakistan in the first place. The Bush regime then forced Pakistan into a war with them and Pakistan has been facing the consequences of that war ever since.

Care to explain why it is a nonsense statement? Do you not feel it is time for Pakistan to sort out the issues it has with the Taliban?

where did you get that figure from? I can guess:hihi:

That figure is the total population of Pakistan (estimated) I realise that sort of comment might go over the head of some people, but I am happy to explain the punchline...

And that's just an excuse to shift the blame from the problems caused by religion.

Religion shapes their identity, beliefs & culture. Anything that differs from that - no matter how harmless - becomes or is seen as a threat to their way of life. And what do people do when they feel threatened: they fear, censor, or try to destroy the "threat" in their attempts to gain or regain control over the "problem". And they'll always find ways to justify what they do because their religion gives them the "God given authority" to do so.

Religion, especially the abrahamic religions, are divisive. Always have been and always will be.

Get rid of or diminish the religious identity and they won't have that convenient excuse.

mickey finn is spot on. It's nothing to do with religion. Religion is just an excuse. Every religion that I have seen states, you shall not kill.

If it had nothing to do with religion, religion wouldn't be an excuse. Religions usually state you should not kill, but that usually only applies to the in-group - not the out-group. The out-group(those who differ or deviate from those aggressive forms of religion) are usually seen a threat - or the enemy. And those who heavily depend on religion will, and evidently do, go to extremes to quash that "threat."

And just to be clear here, not all religious people depend on religion the same. Most, IMO, are moderate and progressive and open to new and different ideas. Some just can't tolerate and accept those differences - which is why they do what they do.

How exactly would a Christian and proud avatar be offensive to other people's beliefs?

The truth of the matter is my avatar seems to irritate muslim haters and I think I have just flushed out another one (You) so please spare me the offensive to others belief excuse......

I said sensitive because I meant sensitive...you can believe what you want, I'm not the one promoting my religion..........but I digress, and as a moderator has asked us to stop bickering ( I knew it wouldn't be long) I will just add my sorrow for the unnecessary loss of young lives.

As Anders Breivik did, proudly holding the Knights Templar slogan on and referring frequently to 'Christian beliefs and foundations' in his massive epistle on how Europe has to fight not only islamification but also those that propose multi-culturalism is the way forward, leading to him slaughtering young socialists.

Tell me, did Anders Breivik represent you?

Certainly not. I'm an atheist, humanist and I'm secular. I'd say the MOD's signature pretty much represents my views.

It is decided by their words, deeds and how they treat their fellow human beings."
