Mister M
The internet is buzzing with rumours that James Corden is to be awarded an OBE in the New Year Honours List. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2885788/James-Corden-OBE.html If honours must be dished out, why not give them for outstanding service to the particular field the individual has contributed towards? I've nothing against Corden, but he's not a renowned comedian or actor.
tinfoilhat
It's for services to fat blokes. For a brief spell fat blokes (particularly those with slightly squeaky voices) could say "do you know what, forget convention and common sense I could pull someone like Sheridan smith too! It's actually well over due.

Mister M
I've just been reading that Sir Bob Kerslake, New Labour goody two shoes, former Chief Executive of Sheffield City Council, and now head of the civil service says that the New Years Honours list shows "deep rooted change". No it doesn't. It would show deep rooted change if it were just ordinary people who got rewarded for extraordinary acts of bravery or charity who otherwise wouldn't get recognised; not famous people who got paid lots of money for simply doing what they do. Harrystottle
The honours system is a joke and a farce and it is time it was done away with.

Ex head of the Civil Service. He was sacked by Cameron but our internal communications carried a report about his "resignation". I believe he now has another highly paid and high profile job.
