Should it be a free for all?

Recommended Posts

We recently visited a Wetherspoons, and one of my pals was wearing a baseball cap, he was told to wear it backwards or take it off.

I personally think hats should be removed indoors, but not sure about haveing banning orders.

Not sure what their policy is on muslim head-wear that covers the face, that should rightly be banned in places where money is changing hands. Do we let people do what they want, and does that include letting companies have their own dress policies.

It was always wrong to ban trainers, years ago in nightclubs, I was recently refused entry because I was wearing shorts and trainers; we just went some where else.

Going to a nightclub in shorts and trainers ????????????

These are ok for the beach and nothing else.

If your going out nightclubbing or some other similar venue, then have a bit of self respect and smarten yourself up.

I do my gardening dressed better than the majority of people dress when socialising and going somewhere special.

Its youths wearing: baseball caps, hoodies, shorts and trainers that's spoilt many a good pub, as people don't want to go in them with that type of clientel.

At the risk of coming across as a bit sanctimonious here, surely its people's behaviour that matters. There's plenty of well dressed **** heads in town on a night out.

Generally I agree with this. How a person is dressed is no guide to how they may behave. Although I do understand lets say on a Derby between Wednesday and United, people working in a pub might not want fans wearing football shirts.

It was a pub on a warm summers night, and some women do still wear skirts, so what is wrong with seeing a mans legs ;)

Give me a break :gag: they're the worst thing about summer

...of course if they are long (ish) not thin or with knobbly knees, not hairy, and preferably have a light golden tan then I'll look - and look again

As the old saying goes " you can't polish a turd" (sorry about using that word)

The owners of venues have the right to create the look and feel of their

establishment by using dress codes amongst other things.

Personally I don't agree with it, as many have said there are plenty of well dressed wrong un's in society.

Most of us judge people by their appearance, I have been proved wrong so many times doing it that I try really hard not to.

Only last month I was in a position where I had to approach a group of youths wearing the full street gear, hoodies closed up to cover faces etc. You know the look.

Yes I pre judged them, but they turned out to be polite, well mannered

and grateful. They wouldn't have got in most venues though.

Probably best to dress according to where you want to go.
