dosxuk
Not sure what their policy is on muslim head-wear that covers the face, that should rightly be banned in places where money is changing hands. I can't imagine that Wetherspoons have too much trouble with devout Muslim's wanting to enter their establishments with full face coverings. Do we let people do what they want, and does that include letting companies have their own dress policies. Companies have had dress policies for millenia. Try going into Claridges wearing nothing but a mankini, or nipping to collect the kids from nursery in just a thong. Caps are "banned" because people can and do use them to avoid being seen on CCTV before committing a crime. There are plenty of other establishments which restrict what their customers can wear for taste, decency and even aesthetics. In fact, those very rules are often what attracts people to use those companies.
ubermaus
We recently visited a Wetherspoons, and one of my pals was wearing a baseball cap, he was told to wear it backwards or take it off. I personally think hats should be removed indoors, but not sure about haveing banning orders. Not sure what their policy is on muslim head-wear that covers the face, that should rightly be banned in places where money is changing hands. Do we let people do what they want, and does that include letting companies have their own dress policies. It was always wrong to ban trainers, years ago in nightclubs, I was recently refused entry because I was wearing shorts and trainers; we just went some where else. I sometimes wear a flat cap indoors. If i got asked to take it off i wouldnt go there again. Pubs cant afford to be officious in this day and age plus whats it got to do with you what someone wears, caps, head dresses or santas hats. Non of your business. ---------- Post added 28-12-2014 at 12:37 ---------- Going to a nightclub in shorts and trainers ???????????? These are ok for the beach and nothing else. If your going out nightclubbing or some other similar venue, then have a bit of self respect and smarten yourself up. I do my gardening dressed better than the majority of people dress when socialising and going somewhere special. Its youths wearing: baseball caps, hoodies, shorts and trainers that's spoilt many a good pub, as people don't want to go in them with that type of clientel. Honestly town is a s*ite hole, the clubs and the people who go out are well drsssed apes. Why they try and put on airs and graces is a mystery. ---------- Post added 28-12-2014 at 12:40 ---------- I went into town on xmas eve shopping. The pubs were spilling out with blokes in shirts behaving like tools at 6pm. Prob see some of them down a&e later or the nick. Just because youve got shiny shoes on and an ironed shirt doesnt mean squat Edited December 28, 2014 by ubermaus ....

El Cid
I can't imagine that Wetherspoons have too much trouble with devout Muslim's wanting to enter their establishments with full face coverings. I would love to organise a hijab party, similar to any other fancy dress party

Mr Bloom
Worse that a fat woman in leggings? I think not! They are for me. There is NOTHING finer than a curvaceous lady in leggings for me, particularly shiny ones.....
Gazza58
I don't understand the distinction between wearing a baseball cap frontwards or backwards Is it banned because their faces can't be seen on CCTV?[/QUOTE] Yes, and in case they are already banned.[well that's what I was told when asked to move my beanie hat]
