Essential Prescription Drugs Being Withheld.

Recommended Posts

Is anyone else experiencing problems having prescription drugs dispensed ?. For the last 18 months I have not been able to find a chemist which can dispense my full prescription. I have been told recently by a pharmacist that the cause is that drugs in common use are being withheld by the manufacturers to pressurise the government into withdrawing N.H.S. cuts which affect them. Get in touch with this thread please if you have been affected by this, and I will take the matter further.

Sincerely,

P.C.Plod.

I have 21 different items each month and the only one that causes problems is morphine, it can't be sent by computer to the chemist, it has to be handed over to the chemists delivery chap or my wife.

I use Armstrongs Chemists, an independant trader at Gleadless and I have always received help and guidance when something different is prescribed.

Hello PC PLOD.

You come over as very authoritarian.

What makes you believe you can help in the way you are offering to help.?

Do you have some sway? Some ''pull''?

Is it a cause you are looking for?

Please, don't disconcert the good people of SF.

I'm rather glad someone is prepared to try and do something. Too many people just moan and do nothing - me included.

We need more action.

Oh dear...I feel a new year's resolution coming on....

I've had a few occasions when not all the items were in stock and I've had to wait a few days. Fortunately I always order a repeat prscription with a week to spare so it's not a problem.

The actual cost of the medication must be huge. I think they should put the prices on each item so people can see what is being spent on their behalf. Maybe we wouldn't take it so much for granted and realise how lucky we are to have an NHS...

I have controlled drugs as they are called on my prescription too. In my case it's sleeping meds.

My chemist is next door to the surgery and they collect the prescriptions and dispense them so only one journey is needed.

It's a Rowlands pharmacy and they are great - really helpful and efficient.

Any good chemist can supply anything on prescription in the UK.

I'd change chemist.

it would show how much some people are being ripped off. £13+ prescription charge for a £2.99 dose. people who privately pay for viagra £40 for 4 tablets - £1.00 each on the black market - genuine ones too!

people often dont take all the items on their prescription because they cant afford them.

Good thing we grow and produce our some of own morphine and diamorphine for the NHS, shame we don't expand the cultivation and production in the UK and instead wage war on countries much larger than us, with plenty of Agricultural land to be exploited for financial gain and not just to ensure supplies for medicinal purposes.
