Thanks for the helpful information for my car remote

A little while ago I asked for help on the Sheffield Forum regarding my car remote fob, it just packed up so I had to use the key to lock and unlock the doors, inconvenient if you have something in your hands.

I had a couple of replies but the one that did the trick was sent to me by email.

I did as directed and sure enough the remote is working again. Better than that though, when I bought the car, an old RAV4, the spare fob never worked, it does now. Thanks to whoever gave me the advice.

In case any other reader has the same problem as me this is what I did.

Press both the lock and unlock buttons at the same time and hold them down for about 15 seconds, let them go and press one of the buttons straight after.

I think you have to be sitting in the car with the key out of the ignition and the doors closed, that's what I did.
