simonj
That would have been Radio Sheffield's small studios on Norfolk Street. I remember walking past it many times as a kid (after visiting Redgates) and trying to pluck up the courage to go in to see if there were any 'stars' in there
Chris M
As a teenager I went down on Sat mornings and spoke to Bryan Ferry and the Four Tops one morning. Ferry was bored by the whole thing but at least he did speak to me, he asked about concert venues in Sheffield. At that time there was only the City Hall and Students Union !! The Tops were always in Sheffield in the 70's and were a bit more interested.
dropout
Old thread. New post.... Don't remember if it was at Radio Sheffield, or the then Top Rank, which sometimes had stars there on a Saturday morning, doing guest appearances, (suppose it could have been both?), but I met 2 or 3 of Pans People in 1974 & saw Alvin Stardust, at the Top Rank,in 1972, which was the first 'gig' that I went to.
