Britain's first school for LGBT pupils

You strongly implied it when you said -

''I don't think there should be segregation at all.

It is of my opinion that our young should tolerate, understand and respect each other more and more with each passing generation. In order to do that, they need to be integrated.. ''

It wasn't a suggestion halibut, It was an opinion. And you will also see from my post that I said the older generations need education on prejudices as it is them that has set the bar..

Our young are not born prejudice, they are taught it.. Only with integration would each future generation be wiser and all would be accepted. You can't do that with segregation.

As for bully's, again it is my opinion that they too should be educated.. Why are they bully's in the first place? Is it because they have been taught prejudices or because they were born that way? All children should be educated about respect for each other and the bully's more so than anyone else because they are inept and will never learn to understand without education.

At no point did I suggest self harm!!!!!

But many youngsters who are teased, discriminated against and bullied do resort to self harm - that's why a unit like the one proposed are a good idea. They provide a safe space and specialised support.

Yes of course bullies should be educated too. What makes you think they arent?

Education starts at home, we all know that. But I feel that children who are bully's are that way for a reason because they aren't getting that education from home to start with, bully's are usually missing something in their lives hence the reason they have to make other children's lives a misery.

It can't be said for all bully's, I know that many children have had the hardest upbringing and this can make them become aggressive and anti sociable or just feel lost and take it out on others.

But how is segregating them going to help them learn and understand? It is my opinion that segregation is not the answer.

And where would all this segregation stop? How long until some other group wants their own school?

What - like schools for clever children ?

Schools for the children of rich parents?

Schools for groups of children of specific religious beliefs?

Oh...actually...

Segregation is not the answer, tackling the issue of bullying for whatever reason is a far better way forward, sadly as anyone who has had achild who has been bullied in school will probably know its not an issue that is effectively tackled in school.
