Xt500 Posted January 19, 2015 Share Posted January 19, 2015 Not a good time of year to be having a valet but the best way is to leave all the windows open at least a quarter of an inch when stood. Nothing better than a good run to warm things through to help push things along. shut the windows at night and the windows will be thick with condensation tommorrow. The windscreen had ice on the inside. It hasn't been valeted since I got it...I call it my bin on wheels. My solution was to leave the car and walk the two miles to the next village, exercising the dog in the process. Thankfully I no longer have to rely on the car for work A humidifier absorbs moisture from the air...nothing more. Moisture is removed, agreed.....but more moisture enters via the vents. Dirty surfaces provide all the little bits of surface area to stimulate condensation. A clean windscreen at least gives you a fighting chance. Nothing gained.. :loopy: ---------- Post added 20-01-2015 at 09:32 ---------- The issue you've got..is even if it looks dry..it's not,it's the sound proofing under the carpets and the foam in your chairs that's the problem... And sound proofing won't dry even if you leave it on washing line in the middle of summer I,ll say it again ... Put a dehumidifier in over night with the windows "shut." If you havnt got one,a fan heater with the window "open" 5 mm to let the condensation escape ...It won't catch fire with the fan heater in before anyone starts banging on about that.... Nothing else will work..This will. If you don't do this pref today... By the end of the week your car will be fusty when the damp turns stagnant feeding on the dust etc under the carpets and the seatbelt mouldy in a few weeks...Taking the boot carpet,parcel shelf out and making sure there isn't water under the spare wheel will help massively too.
