Mr Hinks
I consider myself old school but making feet sweat in plastic bags is a sure way to freeze your feet. Warm feet come from dry feet. By the way I prefer Bovril and a hip flask of Irish. Four hours this time of year is long enough for me so long as I can get out for a few hours I'm happy. Mr Hinks
The cold isn't a problem for me but I am kept in if coupled with rain, I have a decent umbrella but haven't used it for a good few years. The other things that turn me off are snow and wind, they never used to be a problem in my younger days. It's a shock when you feel your age. ---------- Post added 26-01-2015 at 10:17 ---------- I recall sitting at the Trent amid two feet of snow around 20 or more years ago!! I'm just a fine weather fisherman now though!! My lad is still crackers and goes all weathers!! Biggsy There is a real difference between crackers and having fun, I'm begging to lean toward a little higher temps Since Christmas I've only had a couple of trips with wind mostly but other circumstance

Mr Hinks
Seems I'm a girl I even had an extra hour this morning when the hail was hitting the window. I've not been on the bank much this year and the longer I'm not getting out the harder it is for me to get motivated.
charliewag
As i've got older I sometimes find it hard to motivate myself if the weather is bad but once i'm up and the tackle is in the car that's it. I sometimes go piking with a work colleague and we fish regardless of the conditions as he refuses to give in to what he terms as a bit of cold and wet stuff. ---------- Post added 30-01-2015 at 20:50 ---------- My work colleague asked me today if I fancied a pike session on sunday, so let's see what the elements throw at us. As the missus says, if we do get snowbound we've got till monday night to get back!
MrSkinner
I hate fishing in the cold! You can add wind to that as well. Really don't mind the rain but give me a nice sunny or warm day anytime! My fingers always suffer at this time of year and feel like they're about to fall off...hence why I don't bother.
