Is Tony Blair the most hated since Thatcher.

I don't understand. What is a chamoagne socialist and what, if anything, is wrong with it?

Nor me. Dom Perignon, the best champagne there is apparently, was a 17th century benedictine monk who tended to the sick and the needy. He didn't give relief to the bloated plutocrats and fatcats of his day. What better beverage for a socialist to drink? Not that I do personally, never liked the taste.

Some on here can't equate the idea of being a socialist and eating an avocado, or having two functioning kidneys - I mean if they were true socialists they would give one of their kidneys away to to someone who needs it.

I think those who complain at champagne socialists are similar the Worker's Revolutionary Party: screaming 'class traitor' at those who vote Labour but were born with advantage.

Tony Benn and his family , Multi millionaires living in mansions professing to be champions of the poor.

The Labour Party originated, in small part, to the coming together of the working class and middle class reformers. Just like the Tories needed working class support as well as support from upper classes....I don't think Tony Benn complained if workers were getting a pay rise when he was getting a pay rise in Parliament

And what? There's nothing in the socialist handbook, if there is such a thing, that says they can't/shouldn't do that. Are you then saying there are no poor tories and that the tories should hate the poor?

If you don't know whether a "Socialist Handbook" even exists how do you know what is or isn't in it?

No, why would you draw such an abstract conclusion?

Champagne socialism is seen as hypocrisy. A bit like when Nigel Farage employed an immigrant worker to pose as a British builder who was out of work due to immigration in an ad campaign.
