Bluebottle
Couple of years ago I went to a pub quiz. One of the questions was "In what year did the Sheffield flood burn down?" ( I' cant remember the answer and I had a had a beer or three) May sound like a trick question, but apparently after the Sheffield flood up Loxley way in about 1860ish or so they built a pub to commemorate it. Called 'The Sheffield Flood' then some years later it burnt down hence the rather tricky sounding question. I have tried to do a bit of research on the pub, where it was and when it burnt down etc, but despite several google surfing episodes and a bit of perusing books in Smiths cant find out much about the pub, loads on the flood who died etc etc but was the question a trick one? Does any Sheff' historian types know much about it
