Eating lunch in city centre?

Its my birthday tomorrow and I'm off to see Blood Brothers at the Lyceum. I fancy lunch out too, but can't decide where?

Nothing too expensive or pretentious, but something a bit different to weatherspoons - or greggs! :hihi:

It can't be too far a walk either as my companion is disabled and struggles to walk far.

Any suggestions?

We like Ego next to the Winter Gardens. The food is OK but the service is usually precise and on the mark. Unlike other chains, they have enough staff on so your food isn't left on the shelf getting cold whilst they clean tables.

Never had a bad meal there and never had bad service

Sai Nivas at the bottom of The Moor for a great value Sri Lankan feast! For £6 you will be very satisfied! I often go on myself for a Friday lunchtime treat.

By the way, this Blood Brothers production is excellent! Went on Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed it, even though it's my 8th time...
