Bill Beavers motorbike shop

Recommended Posts

At one time Bill held the most TT replicas and had them all displayed in his shop window, imagine that today.my late friend used to be Bills photographer and lived just down Popple st him and Bill were pals from early times.

I seem to remember some trophies on display. Just assumed they were Bill's.

Was Bill brought up on Popple Street or in the area??

PeterR Bill lived up Scott Rd area in a house with some lock ups with it he used to say the rent from these paid his mortgage. He went to live at Morecombe before he left for the island to a house on Bray hill then to his last abode i think.

Bill is mentioned in this thread (in particular on Pages 6 and 13) and this one, also a Page Hall shops thread.

Hi hillsbro,

Thanks for digging those previous posts out about Bill Beevers.

Also, nice to read our exchanges again and see the photo of your BSA Starfire. :)

Regards, Peter.

I used to take bikes there for testing in the 1980s,I believe the tester was called Jim,he was a big bloke and really fair. The brake test was really primative,he attached a winch wire to the bike and then wound it on whilst the rider operated each brake in turn.I never had a failure.
