Bob Arctor
I am hoping to get a run of about 7 miles in this weekend, but it will have to be an evening which restricts where I would run on my own (i.e. it needs to be quite public). Lots of the pavements are very slippery - has anyone been out somewhere that is not slippy? thanks
WalkleyAndy
Maybe pick up some yak trax or similar (rubber grips that fit round shoes) and then do whatever route you'd normally do? I've worn mine for 5 milers and such and it doesn't feel any different running in them, except you don't slip! That would be my suggestion as all the pavements here are icy and the alternative is running on the road, which is hardly safe.
Ridgewalk
Hi Seconded. We have Trax on our running shoes and we've run every day throughout the Winter. I'm running full pelt downhill and people are telling me to be careful or saying "brave man" etc. Little do they know.
Bob Arctor
It's thawed quite a bit since yesterday so I reckon I'll be alright round the East end but those sound worth getting, thanks
