SheffWise
Good morning good people of Sheffield Forum. I was wondering if anyone has any pictures of the now demolished 1960's/70's King Edward Lower School building? I was at the school in the 90's and would love to see it again. When i was there the building was in a very sad state. If you sneezed to hard, some of the plaster would fall down on you. Lots of the windows in what was known as the 'teaching block' wouldn't close properly and were single glazed so it was always freezing in there. If i can get the photographs together I would like to make a sketchup model of the building and would be happy to share it on here. So thanks folks, if anyone has any pictures or knows where I can find some, please let me know.
1978
You might try looking at these three books, although I suspect they'll concentrate on the original school buildings, now the upper school, more than the ones you're after; http://kes.sheffield.sch.uk/about-us/history-of-king-edward-vii-school/ ---------- Post added 02-02-2015 at 13:19 ---------- Only picture online seems to be a very poor aerial shot from Sheffield City Libraries Archives at; http://www.picturesheffield.com/frontend.php?action=zoomWindow&keywords=Ref_No_increment;EQUALS;w00855&prevUrl=
SheffWise
Wow! Someone wrote a 300 page book on the History of King Edwards!! Shame they only put in one dodgy picture of lower school though.. Still it'll make a good read on a lonely night. Thanks 1978.
