PPK9
So where did I say it was acceptable? It's not necessary to avoid using a word, when you're talking about that word. The word is offensive if used in many contexts, but the context of the discussion of that word is not one of them. If your saying that it's not acceptable, why use it? There was no need to use that word at all. Complete numpty IMO
Cyclone
It's not acceptable in day to day use, it's entirely acceptable in the context of this thread. Ad Hominens non withstanding.
TimmyR
This entire imbecilic topic is deeply offensive made far worse by certain contributions. One could argue you are being offensive now Could you explain your point? Edited February 9, 2015 by TimmyR
Cyclone
Speaking about a racist word is not racist. If you're so confused that you think using the word in the discussion about such words is racist then you clearly don't really know what racism is. Lockjaw
So do kids still sing baba black sheep? Yes. ...................
TimmyR
Yes. ................... No they sing Blah blah, that sheep Are you having a good day? I sure hope so Because I wouldn’t want to offend you In any way. Or maybe even judging the sheep to be a sheep is speciesist so we should just call it an Entity. Leah-Lacie
If I cut someone's head off they will die, I better do it just to prove a point. A reasonable excuse? No, because then, my friend, you would be committing a crime. Saying Golliwog, or separating the words into Golly and wog, none of those actions are illegal. Leah-Lacie
To the OP, I have just purchased some Dulux Blackboard paint. It's definitely still Blackboard paint, not chalkboard paint, on the tin anyway. B&Q seem to find it necessary to call it chalkboard paint on their website, even though the image of the tin says blackboard paint.
Leah-Lacie
My daughter's nursery has a different colour theme each week, where the children take items of a specific colour to nursery with them each day. Last week was blue week, the week before it was pink week... This week is black week!
