belfrybum
So when you get dragged out shopping by the missus at the weekend, you can slink away and spend the afternoon in the pub watching footie instead of wondering around the shops. weatherspoons don't do no footy, just have a tv showing news! boldforester
weatherspoons don't do no footy, just have a tv showing news! They do footy in certain places, including the Rawson Spring. I can't believe Meadowhell has never had a pub. There was a crime novel set there, was it called "Exit Yellow and Red" or similar? Back in the day, not by Danuta Reah! Some of the action was consequent on coppers meeting in the Mall boozer, which, in reality was non-existent.
hauxwell
Because it's a premium location, the reason why their branches in airports and train stations (and the one in the NEC in Birmingham) can charge more. The one in Leeds station is expensive, you are best off going out the door and going 100 yards up the road to the Becketts Bank. I think you will find that the prices will be more expensive at Meadowhall. The one at The Metrocentre in Gateshead is noticeably more expensive and they do not have the same meal deals. DnAuK
Meadowhall did have a pub. It was called the Clock Tower. Think it might gone by another name before that too. Used to have a decent european bottled lager range.
